Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce  30thAnnual Golf Tournament a Huge Success

 

 

Santa Fe - The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce recently held its 30th Annual Golf Tournament at South Shore Harbour Country Club. Congratulations to the winners of the tournament  1st  place Univar Co. – Team players Eric Imhoff, Jeff Kyne, Jason Cochran & Carla Galey; 2nd Place AMOCO Federal Credit Union  – Team players Eugene Murphy, Bill Blackely, Ross Odell and Mr. Speed ( Not Pictured);  3rd Place Guardian Angel Home Health Care   – Team players Roy Bolton, Richard Bolton, Robert Smith & Shane Smith

Contest winners were Men’s Longest Drive, Bob Pfaff; over 65 L.W. Surratt; Closest to the Pin, Robert Cheek.

The chamber wishes to also thank the many sponsors and door prize contributors who helped to support the tournament.

No event is a success without the commitment and hard work of volunteers. Under the leadership of event chairman, Joe Dickson Santa Fe City Manager and Rebecca Darden Santa Fe Realty, this year’s tournament was the most successful yet. Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Reveals 2007 Outstanding Leaders
 
  The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce's 31 Annual Awards Dinner, 'Lighting the Way for a New Year' held January 5th at the Haak Vinyards & Winery, Inc., was yet another outstanding event.  Six 'Outstanding Leaders' were honored at the dinner, as well as others for their dedication to the chamber.  Fay Picard, Chamber President/CEO, Event Chairperson, Sharon Free of Texas First Bank and their committee planned an evening full of fun activities for everyone.  Guests were reminded that as a chamber and as a corporate body we face the future 2008 boldly without hesitation and confident as always that our journey is well directed.  We heartily invite you to join or to continue with us along this adventure into the New Year.  We are indebted to our past and currrent directors, officers, and members who have kept the momentum of this organization going and the torch of progress burning brightly through these many years.  Thank you all for your support and please visit our website at www.santafetexaschamber.com for all th highlights of the annual dinner.
 
The 2007 Chairman of the Board, Dana B. Huoni (Santa Fe Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Inc.) passed the gavel to Joe Dickson (Santa Fe City Manager) who kicked off the New Year with a toast to an even brighter and better year in 2008.  Mr Huoni was recognized by 2008 Chairman Joe Dickson with an award and gift to honor him for his dedication and many hours of service to the Chamber.
 
Congratulations to the Outstanding Leadership Awards winners:  Man of the Year, Roney McCrary, Woman of the Year, Jennifer Demers - AMOCO Federal Credit Union, Citizen of the Year, Chief Bary Cook - Santa Fe Chief of Police, Business of the Year, Slone Lumber Company - Owners Mary Helen & Gregg Slone, Public Servant, Sgt. Wayne Kessler - Santa Fe Police Department, Volunteer of the Year, Roy Weiland  - Roy to the Rescue, Chairman Awards, Andrea Brinegar - Homeloan Corp. and Kevin Venabel - AMOCO Federal Crdit Union.  The Chamber Board of Directors recognized Gay Knighten (Fay's sister) for her many hours helping with the chamber events and loaning her vehicle for the Christmas Parade.  She was given a certificate naming her Queen of the Road in Santa Fe.  Fay Picard, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, was also recognized for her continuing efforts to light up the name and image of Santa Fe.
